Im Vergleich zu anderen Feinstaub Sensoren verfügt der DSM501A über 2 Signalausgänge.

• Vout 2 standard Ausgang festeglegt auf eine Partikelgröße von 2,5 µm
• Vout 1 einstellbarer Ausgang für Partikelgrößen > 1 µm bzw. Partikelgrößen > 1,75 µm

Der DSM501A basiert auf einer Infrarot Messung. Dabei wird mittels einem Heizwiderstand die Luftzirkulation innerhhalb des Sensorgehäuses unterstützt. Die abgegebene Infrarot Strahlung wird dabei durch die in der Luft enthaltenen Partikel gestreut und mittels einer Linse auf eine Empfängerdiode fokusiert.

Bedingt durch die eingesetzte Wellenlänge werden dabei Partikel mit einer Größe > 1µm erfasst.

Mittels den beiliegenden Widerständen kann die Selektivität am Ausgang Vout 1 im Bezug der Partikelgröße angepasst werden:

• 100KΩ Widerstand zwischen Control Pin (Pin 1) und GND (Pin 5) = 1,75 µm Partikelgröße
• 27KQ Widerstand zwischen Control Pin (Pin 1) und GND (Pin 5) = 1 µm Partikelgröße
• kein Widerstand => 2,5 µm Partikelgröße

The DSM501A measurement is based on an infrared measurement. The air circulation is supported by a heating Element (Resistor). An integrated infrared LED is positioned in a forward angle with respect to a photodiode. Particles passing through the light beam scatter light, which generates a measurable signal in the sensor circuitry.

Based on the wavelength the DSM501A detects particles > 1µm.

The Signal Output is based on PWM (Pulse With Modulation).

The Particle size of Vout 1 Output can be adjusted by connecting a Resistor between Control Pin (Pin1) and GND (Pin 5)
