Der MLX90614ESF verfügt zusätzlich über einen Umgebungssensor zur Erfassung der
Umgebungstemperatur, bzw. differnziert zwischen Umgebungs- und Objekt- Temperatur. Die Signalerfassung erfolgt über einen internen RAM mit Zugriff über eine I2C Schnittstelle.

Der MLX90614 erlaubt die Erfassung einer Umgebungs- / Sensor- Temperatur von -40°C bis 125°C und die Bestimmung einer Objekttemperatur von -70°C bis 380°C. Die Bestimmung der Objekttemperatur erfolgt dabei mit einer typischen Abweichung von ±1°C.

Melexis MLX90614ESF contains an addiotional ambient sensor to measure the ambient temperature of the chip and a supply sensor to measure the VDD. The outputs of all IR, Ta, and VDD sensors are stored in internal RAM and accessible through I2C.

The MLX90614 has a -40°C to 125°C operational temperature range and can measure object temperatures between -40°C and 300°C. Maintaining high levels of precision across its full measurement scale, this Far Infrared sensor delivers a typical target object temperature accuracy of ±1°C.
